The Ethnic and Racial Disparities (ERD) Subcommittee focuses on state compliance in addressing and reducing racial and ethnic disparities in the juvenile justice system in Wisconsin. The committee reviews and affirms Wisconsin DOJ data collection and system improvement planning as it relates to disparities identified across the spectrum of five contact points with the juvenile justice system. These contact points include arrest, diversion, pre-trial detention, secure confinement, and transfers to adult court. The subcommittee collaborates with the Racial and Ethnic Disparities Coordinator to develop and implement a Racial and Ethnic Disparities (R/ED) Reduction Plan. This subcommittee is responsible for applying an ERD lens to all GJJC recommendations.
